Taika Rautiainen

is a dance artist and teacher based in Helsinki, Finland. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Dance Performance from SKH (Stockholm University of the Arts).

Currently she teaches in basic art education for groups from children to adults, as well as in special education in various educational institutions in the Helsinki region. In addition, she has been involved in Liisa Pentti’s dance classes for people on autism spectrum for the last three years.

In addition to her work, Taika is studying for a Master’s degree at the Stockholm University of the Arts, Dance Education programme.

Taika’s work is currently strongly grounded in issues of intersections and equality, taking the exuberance and joy of dance to places where movement is less or more traditional, and exploring embodied rest, pleasure and agency.

Taika has learned to fall in love with somatics and contact work. She dreams of a more inclusive art scene and a calmer tomorrow.
